Himalayan Hot Stone Massage
Smooth basalt stones from Himalayan riverbeds are heated to 50°C and worked along the spine, shoulders and legs. The heat reaches muscle depth that hands alone would need far more pressure to access — which makes this the treatment people ask for in the damp Pokhara winter, when the valley never quite dries out and the cold gets into the joints rather than the skin.

Step by step
What happens during Himalayan Hot Stone Massage
No surprises. This is the exact sequence, in order.
Step 01
Placement
Stones are laid along the spinal channels and left to soak warmth in while your back is oiled.
Step 02
Gliding strokes
The therapist uses the stones as extensions of the hands, gliding along muscle fibre.
Step 03
Point work
Smaller stones address specific knots between shoulder blades and along the sacrum.
Step 04
Cool-down
A cool stone across the forehead closes the session and settles body temperature.
Oils we use
Warm sesame with cinnamon and ginger in winter; lighter coconut base in summer.
Aftercare
Stay warm for the evening and drink plenty of water — heat therapy is dehydrating.
