Deep Tissue Massage in Pokhara

Slow, deliberate pressure through the deeper layers of muscle and fascia, applied only as hard as your tissue will accept. This is the session for knots that a relaxing massage never quite reaches: the desk-work upper back, the driver's neck, the runner's calves.

Step by step

What happens during Deep Tissue Massage

No surprises. This is the exact sequence, in order.

  1. Step 01

    Pain mapping

You mark the areas on a body chart; we agree a pressure scale of 1 to 10 and stay at 6–7.

  2. Step 02

    Fascia warm-up

Broad, warm strokes prepare the tissue — going deep on a cold muscle is how people get bruised.

  3. Step 03

    Layered pressure

Forearm and thumb work through successive layers, with breath cues on the tender points.

  4. Step 04

    Stretch and reset

Assisted stretches for the worked segments, plus two exercises to take home.

Oils we use

Light sesame base with wintergreen or eucalyptus for muscular heat.

Aftercare

Some tenderness for 24 hours is normal. Drink water, keep moving lightly, and apply heat rather than ice unless the area is swollen.

Questions

Deep Tissue Massage — what people ask

How much is a full body massage in Pokhara?

Ours run from NPR 3,000 for a 60-minute deep tissue session to NPR 4,400 for a 90-minute Ayurvedic Abhyanga. Every price is published on the therapy page itself — no negotiation, no surprise add-ons.

Does deep tissue massage hurt?

It should read as 'good pressure', around 6–7 out of 10, never sharp. Tell your therapist immediately if it crosses that line; the technique works better below the flinch threshold.

Deep tissue or Abhyanga — which should I choose?

Deep tissue for a specific mechanical complaint. Abhyanga for whole-system fatigue, poor sleep or dryness. Many guests alternate them.
